We Remember, We Mourn, We Pray for Peace

Brentwood Reform is delighted that the 20 remaining living hostages:-

Omri Miran, Matan Angrest, Ziv Berman, Gali Berman, Guy Gilboa-Dalal, Alon Ohel, Eitan Mor, Elkana Bohbot, Avinatan Or, Yosef-Chaim Ohana, Evyatar David, Rom Braslabski, Segev Kalfon, Maxim Herkin, Bar Kupershtein, Eitan Horn, Ariel Cunio, David Cunio, Matan Zangauker, Nimrod Cohen.

have now been safely returned to Israel. We pray for the peace of Israel and her people, never forgetting the almost 1000 IDF soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for their fellow citizens. May their memory and the memories of those brutally murdered both on 7th October 2023 and those murdered in Hamas captivity over the last 2 years be a blessing.

At present those confirmed murdered in captivity number 26 with the fate of 2 still unclear. We await the remains of the following hostages confirmed as dead. 

Tamir Nimrodi, Bipin Joshi, Tamir Adar, Sonthaya Akrasri, Muhammad al-Atarash, Sahar Baruch, Uriel Baruch, Inbar Hayman, Itay Chen, Oz Daniel, Ronen Engel, Meny Godard, Ran Gvili, Tal Haimi, Guy Illouz, Eitan Levi, Eliyahu Margalit, Joshua Mollel, Omer Neutra, Daniel Peretz, Dror Or, Suthisak Rintalak, Lior Rudaeff, Yossi Sharabi, Arie Zalmanowicz, Hadar Goldin.

Our hearts go out to those awaiting the return of the dead relatives’ remains, may Hashem bring them home for a dignified burial.   

It seems somewhat poignant, that whilst we are remember and quote 7th October 2023 as the darkest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust, the chosen day for the release of the 20 living hostages, the eve of Simchat Torah (Shemei Azeret) is pretty much exactly 2 years since the Simchat Torah invasion.  

We continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and all of the Israeli people.
